Recently, a batch of 22.6 tonnes of, worth about 90, 600 US dollars, frozen minced fish product was successfully exported from Jiaxing, Zhejiang to Hong after gaining inspection and quarantine certification. It’s the first time that Jiaxing Inspection & Quarantine Bureau has exported frozen mince fish products, which mainly includes frozen fish ball, lobster fish ball, sea urchin fish ball and so on.
It’s known that it’s also the first frozen minced fish product export ever in Zhejiang province.
Raw material of the frozen fish balls all came from imported high-end marine wild fishes, which were process together with other superior food ingredients, like fish roe, cheese, vegetable proteins and so on. The batch of Cantonese-style products were pitched at high-end consumer market.
Part of the imported products in Hongkong will be distributed to local shopping mall and supermarket while the left will be retailed at agricultural product market. Each 20g fish ball contains more than 50% fish flesh, whose unit price is 3 yuan. It’s reported that Hongkong citizens’ average consumption level of frozen mince fish product is about 20-30 yuan each day.
