Both Songhua River and Nen River flowing through, Daqing, Heilongjiang province enjoys rich water resources and unique outstanding aquaculture conditions. According to Daqing Livestock and Aquaculture Bureau, total aquatic product in Daqing reaches 35, 700 tonnes, up by 2.4% year on year while fisheries output value reaches 0.5 billion yuan, increasing by 3.5% year on year, in the first half of 2016.
It’s known that big silver fish (Protosalanx hyalocraniusAbbott) produced in Duerbote (a county in Daqing city) is extremely popular in the whole country. Vendors from different provinces would rush to Duerbote to purchase the big silver fish, which enjoys big size and fine quality. Some of the fish are even exported overseas. At present, a complete industry chain, including production, processing, sales and so on, has already been put into operation here, exerting strong influence over the whole industry.
Up to now, big silver fish produced here has been exported to EU, Southeast Asia and many other regions, whose export volume accounts for 50% of the whole in China. The annual output value reaches 30 million yuan, bringing about 3, 000 job opportunities.
Apart from big silver fish, Daqing also has other superior aquatic product, like river crab, yellow-head catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco), German Mirror Carp (Cyprinus carpio var. Specularis), Japanese kio (Cyprinus carpio) and so on.
Duerbote is the large fisheries county in Daqing, which aims to develop fisheries into its another local pillar industry in 5 years and build aquatic products logistics and distribution center of Heilongjiang province. Duerbote also plans to break 35, 000 tonnes annual aquatic production record and realize 0.44 billion yuan annual output value, for which deep and fine processing output value accounts more than 12%.
