The Faroe Islands (an autonomous region of Denmark) have expressed interest in the supply of fruits and vegetables from Kyrgyzstan. This was reported in the Chamber of Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to this information, the Faroe Islands intend to promote trade cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. The agreement was reached at a meeting in Moscow between the chairman of CCI KR, Marat Sharshekeeva, and the representative of the autonomous region, Bjarne Kuno.
It is worth noting that the Faroe Islands have a well-developed fishing industry, with a production of about half a million tonnes of high-quality fish, but the autonomous region's natural conditions do not allow it to supply the population with agricultural products; therefore, almost all of these foods are imported.
Now the Faroe Islands are looking for suppliers of high-quality agricultural products, mostly fruits and vegetables.
"We feel that the ideal route for the supply of products from Kyrgyzstan could be through St. Petersburg port, from where ships depart weekly to the islands," stated the representative of Faroe Islands.
