In order to guarantee quality and safety of agricultural products, eco environmental security and people's life safety, based on relevant provisions of “Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China” and “Rules for administration of pesticides”, after review of National Pesticide Registration and Accreditation Council, and on the basis of soliciting public opinions, MOA decided to take management measures on 8 pesticides including 2,4-D butyl ester, paraquat, dicofol, flubendiamide, carbofuran, phorate, isofenphos-methyl and aluminium phosphide.

CFSA solicited public opinions on 10 food additives including ammonium carbonate
Based on provisions of “Measures for administration of new varieties of food additives” and “Provisions for declaration and acceptance of new varieties of food additives”, CFSA solicited public opinions on 10 new varieties of food additives including ammonium carbonate which had passed technical review of expert evaluation committee, and opinions should be submitted before October 9th.

CFSA solicited public opinions on the new food raw material zeaxanthin
Entrusted by NHFPC, based on provisions of “Food safety law” and “Measures for administration of safety review of new food raw material”, CFSA solicited public opinions on zeaxanthin which had passed technical review of expert evaluation committee, and opinions should be submitted before October 18th.

NHFPC approved 243 national food safety standards and 2 amendments
NHFPC issued 243 national food safety standards including “National food safety standard food additive Calcium hydrogen phosphate” (GB 1886.3-2016) and 2 amendments based on provisions of “Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China” and “Measures for administration of national food safety standards”, after review of evaluation committee for national food safety standards. The standards were mainly for quality specifications of food additives, physico-chemical examination and microbiological detection. The 2 amendments were Amendment No. 1 of GB 29202-2012 “National food safety standard food additive Nitrogen” and Amendment No. 1 of GB 30616-2014 “National food safety standard Food flavour”.

NHFPC formulated “Plan of national standard project for food safety in 2016 (batch 1)” including plan for revision of standards including “Standard for use of food nutritional supplements” and plan for formulation of “Determination of total acid in foods”
