On November 13, two aeroplanes filled with 200 tons of fruit reached Zhengzhou International Airport from Chile in South America.
A previous cargo, which arrived on November 6, contained 660 tons of imported fruit. These were distributed to city centres in North China, East China and Central China.
In the next one and a half months, more than 70 chartered flights are scheduled to import fruit from South America to Zhengzhou airport. The total import volume will add up to 7000 tons, leaping all the way to the top of the list of national imports. The Zhengzhou airfield will also become one of China's most important distribution centres for imported fruits.
