"The prospects are good; it is quite cold and sunny. The 2017 season looks promising," assures Maxime Gervasoni, of Tresacois. It is thus time to work hard in France; a country that takes advantage of the gap left in the asparagus market between the end of the Spanish and Italian campaigns and the start of the season in Germany or Switzerland.
Some of the varieties supplied by Tresacois include white asparagus, with 60% of the total volume; white-purple, with 30%, and green, with 10%. In total, they produce between 150 and 200 tonnes per year which have to compete directly with Spain and Italy.
The Gervasoni family, under the trade name Tresacois, runs a company in full expansion that exports to countries like Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Belgium.
