Core Tip: Finding insects in produce can happen occasionally, but one woman from the UK found something much worse in her bag of bananas.
Finding insects in produce can happen occasionally, but one woman from the UK found something much worse in her bag of bananas. Claire Todd bought a bag of bananas from the Aldi, and when she reached in hungrily, she felt something slimy and pulled her hand out in shock.

"I looked to see what it was and at first I thought it was a slug," she told Mashable. "It wasn't until I turned the banana around that I saw it was a frog!"

The frog was dead and decaying, likely dying trapped in the bag.

"My first thought was poor little thing!"

Todd decided to share her story on twitter along with a message to the grocery store.

“Incidents such as this are very rare, but naturally can occur on fresh produce items," an Aldi spokesperson told Mashable. "We have spoken to Ms. Todd to apologise and are establishing the background to her claims.”
