 New packaging has been announced with modified properties to reduce surface tension and absorb condensation on mushrooms and other packaged products. This material, called Hydrozrob H-Pet, helps improve shelf-life compared to conventional r-PET. According to Holfeld Plastics tests have shown that H-PET absorbs more moisture than PP, a standard packaging material for mushrooms. 



They claim the lightweight, low-carbon material with organic and inorganic fillers can be completely recycled and that the material's improved weight-to-strength ratio helps eliminate stability problems.

"Its texture makes it remarkably tactile and its non-plastic appearance enhances shelf appeal. H-PET packaging offers all of the robust properties of PET and thus meets the demands of modern packaging systems along with supply chain requirements." Holfeld Plastics said.

Holfeld Plastics will be showing the packing at Fruit Logistca 2017 at hall 8.2, booth A-06.
