“Chef Luca’s Lasagna Al Forno – Baked Cheese Lasagna” has been recalled after one consumer suffered anaphylaxis shock on May 12th, 2017, after eating it. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Italian Gluten Free Food CL initiated the recall after investigating the incident and discovering that the lasagna may contain the undeclared egg allergen. Italian Gluten Free CL is headquartered in Merrick, New York.

The ingredients list and required allergy warning on the 15-ounce (425 grams) packages of the lasagna did not declare the presence of eggs. The packaging sleeve, labelled as “Chef Luca’s LASAGNA AL FORNO ‘Gluten Free’ and “All Natural,” No Preservatives, Lower Calorie, and Lower Cholesterol,” is marked with the Product Code “CL-LAS” and one of the following lot numbers:

Lot Number 0387 – Expiration Date: (02/07/2018)
Lot Number 0527 – Expiration Date: (02/21/2018)
Lot Number 0547 – Expiration Date: (02/23/2018)
Lot Number 1147 – Expiration Date: (04/24/2018)

The lasagna was distributed to KeHe Distributors, River Valley Foods, Wegmans, H.E.B. stores, and Uncle Giuseppe’s retail stores in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. People who purchased this recalled product should either dispose of it or return it to the store for a complete refund.
