Mikawaya has issued a recall of its “Mikawaya Brand Chocolate Chocolate Mochi Ice Cream” for undeclared peanuts. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this recall was prompted by a customer who alerted the company that the ice cream contained undeclared peanut butter.

The ice cream, distributed to all Trader Joe’s stores nationwide, is packaged in a paperboard box which contains 9.1 ounces (258g) of 6 1.5-ounce (43g) pieces. The affected boxes are stamped with a UPC code of 070934990609 and the lot number LOT 090-17.

People who are allergic to peanuts may experience life-threatening anaphylaxis shock if they eat the Mochi ice cream product. They should either dispose of it or return it to Trader Joe’s for a refund.
