The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a consumer advisory notifying those who are allergic to peanuts that they may also have a reaction to lupin, a legume that is used in gluten-free foods. Some peanut-allergic people can have a reaction to this product, but others may only be allergic to lupin.

In mid-May, Loblow Companies recalled pancake mixes because they contained lupin pulse flour. The flour was correctly identified on the label, but there was no mention of peanut allergies.

The recalled products are PC Blue Menu brand. They include Buttermilk Protein Pancake Mix in 340 gram containers. All codes are recalled. The UPC number is 0 60383 18131 4. In addition, Apple Cinnamon Flavor Protein Pancake Mix, also in 340 gram packages, is recalled. All codes are recalled. The UPC number for that product is 0 60383 18132 1.

If you purchased those products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
