The Enid flour mill plant was built in 1928, and has undergone a complete makeover as part of the modernisation initiative.
This project has seen two existing milling units replaced with a single, automated unit.
By the first quarter of 2019, the company is also planning to add a new high-speed packer to more efficiently serve its customers.
ADM Milling vice-president Kevin Like said: “For many decades, the Enid flour mill has served as a focal point for the region’s wheat harvest. We’re building upon that legacy with upgrades to the facility that will provide even better service to our customers.
“Local farmers from America’s breadbasket supply our mill. Along with helping customers and our business, the upgrades here will benefit our suppliers here in the heart of wheat country. We’re excited to work with them from our improved facility and grateful for our continued partnership.”
Additionally, the modernised flour mill is expected to further enhance the production capacity and increase its customer base in the region.
ADM Milling is one of the largest flour millers in the world, with multiple wheat mill facilities located in the US, Canada, Caribbean, Central America, and the UK.
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin said: “The investment by ADM will ensure its long-term viability in our state.”
Last month, US-based supply chain solutions company Pipeline Foods signed an agreement to acquire 3.4 million bushel grain elevator in Atlantic, Iowa, from ADM for an undisclosed price.
An agricultural processor and food ingredient providers, ADM has around 31,000 employees in more than 160 countries.
It has around 500 crop procurement locations, 250 ingredient manufacturing facilities, 38 innovation centres and a wide crop transportation network.
