There are very few people in the Indian food industry who have earned the recognition of being called doyen of Indian food industry. One such doyen N M Kejriwal, is no more with us today. (N M Kejriwal, chairman, Kejriwal Group, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018.)

We’re sure that his life & devotion to the industry will inspire many generations to come. Very specifically, the young budding entrepreneurs in the food industry who would definitely look upon him as a role model, someone who established the industry from scrap at a time when everything was state controlled. He is the one who opened Russia & CIS market for Indian food products and someone who has created one of India’s best food companies which is today one of India’s largest manufacturers and exporters of honey and honey-based products along with exports of fruit pulp, spices, tea and rice for more than 45 years.

Most importantly Kejriwal would be remembered for his selfless services toward Indian industry. He has championed at various roles at very top levels in All India Food Processors Association, PHD Chambers, I.L.S.I and various other associations. Noteworthy is the All India Food Processors Association where he has championed the association for the development of MSMEs. Even on the 75th year of its foundation day it is still No.1 voice of small and medium industries of India. Any issue – taxation, food regulations, export-import policy, Kejriwal was the first one to take the call and sort it out. Using his persuasive ability and deep knowledge on the subject and personal intervention and representation skills, he would be able to lead the industry efforts in all policy related issues.

The void that has got created with his passing away, not a single person will be able to fill the same. Nevertheless the best we can do is, to work together to develop our industry to Make in India and export to the world. This will be a fitting tribute to the doyen and the founder of industry associations…Late Shri Kejriwal.
