Beverage giant Coca Cola India has assured that it will set up a project in India’s eastern state of Jharkhand. Ishtiaque Amjad, VP Coca Cola India, said at the Global Agriculture and Food Summit that the company would be taking further steps in this regard, in cooperation with the government.
According to Mr Amjad¸ the company is one of the largest buyer of agriculture products, not only in India but all over the world. He said that the company has an array of products in fruits and vegetables segments and was doing well in the dairy segment. Mr Amjad said Coca Cola was also going to venture into tea and coffee segments.
Coca Cola buys 95 percent of its fruits from India. Amjad assured listeners that in the course of the next two or three years, the company would procure 100 percent of its fruit supplies from India. Amjad stated that the company has already assured an investment of Rs 110 bln (€1.38 bln) in India by the year 2022.
