China expects annual revenue of tea sold abroad to rise to $1.5 billion in 2018.
This is the value of 300,000 tons of tea sold in Europe, the United States and Africa this year. Wang Qing, president of China Tea Market Circulation Association, said that China's tea production has reached 2.8 million tons.
In the first three quarters of this year, China exported 263,000 tons of tea, an annual increase of 0.29%, and its export volume increased by 10.41%, reaching 1.28 billion US dollars. Green tea is in the greatest demand, accounting for 83% of the export share.
