Iberchem Group (Iberchem) has opened a new fragrance and flavor creative center in Mumbai, India. The facility will host the activities of both Iberchem (fragrances) and Scentium (flavors). Once fully operative, the new facility will host a full team of laboratory specialists, perfumers, flavorists and sales representatives, reports the company.
“The new creative center in Mumbai reflects our global business strategy to strengthen its presence in fast-growing markets such as India,” says Ramón Fernández, CEO of Iberchem.
“It has been designed to support long-term business growth in the country, while also supporting the worldwide operations of the group. Furthermore, not only will it enhance the collaboration between our teams and customers, but it will also help us in achieving even shorter lead times in the delivery of local projects,” Fernández notes.
“By opening a second facility, Iberchem India reaffirms its commitment to meet the rising customer demand for leading technical services across the Indian sub-continent,” Nikesh Budhrani, Managing Director of Iberchem says.
“The center will be instrumental in supporting our customers locally with taste expertise, thus offering closer collaboration and creating true consumer-preferred fragrances and flavors to differentiate their products in the marketplace,” explains Budhrani.
The investment reflects India’s importance to Iberchem which already has a production center in Ahmedabad which was launched in 2010.
It is the second facility launched by the group following its acquisition (70 percent) by French global investment company Eurazeo in 2017. After opening another creative center in Bangkok, Thailand, Iberchem also announced the acquisition of the South African company Versachem in May 2018. The move came as part of the company’s current expansion plan.
