British dessert & snack producer Pecan Deluxe Candy celebrated the opening of a new factory in Yorkshire with an event that attracted major players in the food industry including CEOs, buyers and NPD technologists from Australia, Scandinavia, Belgium, France, and Russia.
The company has made a GBP3m (USD3.78m) investment to build the new facility, which saw the installation of new frozen storage units, as well as an additional extrusion line that was needed due to rising demand for the company’s cookie dough products.
The firm also took the opportunity to welcome Lerssak Boonsongsug, chief supply officer for Minor Food Group, who is representing Pecan’s based APAC headquarters, as well as the growing markets of the Far East and Australia.
According to Pecan, the event was a grand success. Development Manager Jenny Baillie noted the company was “delighted to welcome guests who made the effort to travel such long distances for the launch event. It’s a credit to our team who have developed such good relationships with our customer base over many years of association. We’re very proud of our company’s ongoing development and of the extended facilities which will underpin future growth and innovation.”
