On January 8, 2019, the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China published the "List of Registered Overseas Manufacturers of Infant Formula", which involved two production plants in Finland. This was the first time that Finnish infant formula manufacturers obtained registration approval in China. Until then, only manufacturers of dairy products in Finland were registered in China.
It is noteworthy that China has officially implemented registration management programme of overseas manufacturers of dairy products since May 1, 2014. Overseas manufacturers shall apply for registration before they export food to China.
