Core Tip: Maersk and DP World have been ordered to withdraw certain customer advisories from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) by the Competition Commission of India, (CCI).
Maersk and DP World have been ordered to withdraw certain customer advisories from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) by the Competition Commission of India, (CCI).

The news is an update to the December 2018 story that saw the CCI open an investigation into alleged violations by Maersk and DP World at the JNPT. It followed a complaint by terminal operator PSA International.

Both logistics companies denied the accusations when the probe was started, with DP World reportedly presenting a petition to the Indian High Court to block the investigation.

According to Reuters, which claims to have seen a document ordering the withdrawal, the CCI has said the presence of Maersk and DP World advisories “smacks of anti-competitive” conduct. It also said that if the advisories are not withdrawn, they would cause “irretrievable damage or losses” to PSA and would hinder the JNPT’s development.

A DP World spokesperson is quoted by Reuters as saying the company had not received any order from CCI but was “committed to ensuring” it complies with all laws. PTI has contacted Maersk but has yet to receive comment.
