US-based manufacturer of Equal brand products Merisant has launched Sugarly Sweet, a range of zero-calorie sweeteners.
Available for purchase exclusively on Amazon, the product line is part of Equal’s strategy to strengthen the brand through on-trend innovations, including a line of fortified sweeteners, Equal Plus.
Merisant marketing lead for the North America division EG Fishburne said: “Equal has been part of coffee and tea routines since 1982, a testament to the iconic blue packets that made the brand a staple.
“Now, as consumer needs evolve, we’re prioritising innovation that follows suit, like our Sugarly Sweet Zero Calorie Sweeteners, bringing comfort, flavour and convenience to people’s lives.”
The Sugarly Sweet range is part of the Manufacturer Accelerator Program on Amazon. It includes Sugarly Sweet Zero Calorie Sweetener made with stevia leaf or sucralose, as well as aspartame or saccharin.
The sweetener made with stevia leaf is Non-GMO Project verified. It is available in green packets and bulk granulated pouches, while the product made with sucralose is available in yellow packets and bulk granulated pouches.
Aspartame sweetener is available in blue packets, while the saccharin product is available in pink.
Merisant president for North America Brian Huff said: “Sugarly Sweet was developed in an unprecedented three months, from the initial idea to availability on Amazon.
“The brand launch demonstrates Merisant’s larger, renewed commitment to a customer-first, agile business approach, as we breakdown internal barriers to create a culture of bold, empowered doers.”
The company will also launch a line of vitamin and mineral-fortified sweeteners called Equal Plus this month.
The Equal Plus product line comprises three varieties, Vitamin C and Zinc, B Vitamins (B3, B5, B12), and Antioxidant vitamins C and E. The MSRP is $3.79 per 100-packet box.
Merisant offers a range of products under its brands Equal, Canderel, Pure Via and Whole Earth, as well as several other brands in more than 90 countries.
