Blueberries from the United States will be launched at Glocal Junction, Andheri, Mumbai, from 7pm onwards on February 5, 2019. It will be launched in India by Anusaya Fresh, one of the leading distributors of frozen blueberries from USA in India. They have tied up with the US’ JD Farms and Rajiv Khinchi for the Blueberry Cocktail launch, which will be supported by US High Bush Blueberry Council.
Anusaya Fresh is one of the first fruit importers to widely distribute blueberries to high-end restaurants and hotels and upscale grocery stores in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru. In 2015, it teamed up with Mississippi-based MissLou Blueberries to supply blueberries for the supply of blueberries, and is expected to ship one million lb of USA blueberries to the Indian consumer market.
Commenting on the growth of US blueberry in India, Donald Van De Werken, proprietor, JD Farms, said, “India is a huge market. We are coming to Mumbai which has a huge potential. The demand for blueberries in India is growing, and we believe that the Indian market is ready to embrace the fruit, given its unique combination of being sweet and crunchy, not to mention, its extremely good shelf life.”
