On March 12, according to sales in 2018, the Brewers Association (BA) announced the annual ranking of American beer companies.
Every year, BA publishes a Top50 annual list of American refiners and overall breweries. Among of the refined breweries announced this year, 40 are recognized by the American Brewers Association as refined breweries.
Bart Watson, BA's chief economist, said: "Despite the increasingly fierce competition in the beer market, especially for regional breweries with a wide range of distribution, these 50 breweries continue to take the lead in the brewing beer market by virtue of their strong brands, quality and innovation."
Yuengling & Son, the largest producer of refined beer in the United States, again ranked first in the list of refined breweries. Boston Breweries and Sierra Nevada Breweries ranked second and third respectively, while the top seven breweries remained unchanged compared with last year. At the same time, the top breweries did not change much.
In addition, BA has also published a list of the overall breweries. Budweiser InBev undoubtedly ranked first again, Miller Kang won second, followed by Constellation Group, Heineken and Pabst, ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively, ranking remains unchanged. As the first refined brewing ranking of Yuengling＆Son Beer, it ranks sixth in the overall ranking and performs very well.
Overall, compared with 2017, the top breweries, both refined and non-refined breweries, did not show significant fluctuations.
