The supermarket chain Carrefour has launched the first guacamole without preservatives or gluten. The guacamole, made with 95% fruit, has been manufactured by the Malaga-based company Reyes Gutiérrez, and has been the highest rated by consumers in a tasting with more than 60 customers.
Avocado is a source of nutrients and monounsaturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids, potassium and vitamins C, E and B6. It is a source of fiber and does not contain lactose or gluten, Carrefour said in a statement.
With this launch, Carrefour has stressed its commitment to fresh products and has cited a report from the WHO and FAO published recently, which recommends the intake of a minimum of 400 grams of fruits and vegetables daily to prevent health issues such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes or obesity.
