An employee at a frozen food factory in Hull, England, is suspected of having urinated on the pea production line and of having recorded a video committing the alleged crime.
The 8-second video reportedly filmed by a disgruntled employee on his last day of work at the cutting edge plant of frozen food giant Birds Eye was first published by The Sun newspaper.
If the probe reveals that the worker actually soaked the vegetables with his urine (the flow in the video could be from a hose used to wash the peas), Birds Eye might have to pull production for an entire week. That's about 10,000 tons of peas or 10 million individual packages. Birds Eye said that all the stock in the plant's warehouse has been isolated while they investigate the facts.
