Andhra Pradesh State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation Kurasala Kannababu has stated that measures were being initiated to export mangoes to other states and countries as the horticulture department was anticipating mango crop yields in the state to be high and fruits are expected to enter the market by month end.
Speaking at a function on Tuesday, he said as the mango season had commenced, the state government had initiated measures for their exports. He said 140 tonnes of mangos were exported to other states from Visakhapatnam two days ago.
“Chief Minister Jaganmohanreddy was taking steps for ensuring remunerative price for the crops raised by the farmers. As a part of these measures , government had initiated steps to supply five varieties of fruits to the consumers in municipalities. “
