A cold storage with the capacity to store 3,000 tons of goods in the airport in southern Kandahar province might be on the verge of becoming scrap as the government is not allowing its transfer by a company that has purchased it. TSC has a cold storage with the capacity of 2,500 tons in the Shorandam locality of Kandahar City. TSC also owns vehicles with freezer and stores fresh fruits and other items of farmers.

The transferable cold store was purchased by TawakulSadaat Company (TSC) two years ago, from foreigners, but the government has stopped its transfer. The company officials say the government has not given any reasons.

TSC employee Mohammad Agha told that they provided services of agriculture products storage and export in Kandahar City from the past four years. The company bought the facility two years ago from NaviJahan Company. Kandahar Agriculture Director Syed HafeezullahSaeedi said this cold store was earlier the property of ANHAM Company and used for the storage of vegetables and fruits for foreigners.
