Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, has terminated the conditional agreement to sell the Windsor whisky business, including the W series, to the Bayside Private Equity and Metis Private Equity consortium (Bayside/Metis).

The termination of the £124m deal is said to be a result of Bayside/Metis being unable to meet certain conditions for completion which formed part of the sales agreement announced in March.

Windsor Global will continue to operate the Windsor business under an independent entity to the Diageo Korea international spirits and beer business.
