Farmers group delivers 18 tons of garlic to province of Pangasinan

Recently, the Itbayat Garlic Farmers Producers Association has delivered 18,125 tons of garlic through the Department of Agriculture-Inspectorate and Enforcement (DA-IE) and the Philippine Navy.

The a garlic farmers group delivered P1.95 million worth of garlic in Pangasinan. The DA and the Navy have partnered to provide hauling and transport services to ensure efficient delivery and stable supply of various agricultural supplies and food items across the country. The shipment, transported in a Navy vessel, is composed of 11 tons of large garlic, 5,4 tons of medium garlic, and 1,7 tons of small garlic.

DA Assistant Secretary and DA-IE head James Layug stressed that the department will continue to launch projects, in collaboration with other agencies, to improve the lives and livelihood of Filipino farmers and fishers across the nation.
