Core Tip: Brioche Pasquier Group, a family-owned manufacturer and marketer of baked foods in France, has acquired Richmond-based Galaxy Desserts from Pacific Community Ventures, a private growth equity firm.
Paul Levitan and Jean Yves Charon, the founders of Galaxy Desserts, will continue to manage the company, and they will retain ownership position in the company.

Founded in 1998, Galaxy Desserts develops, manufactures and markets private label and branded gourmet desserts and pastries, including crèmes, mousse cakes and cheesecakes. The transaction will provide Galaxy Desserts with resources to expand distribution of its existing products, to develop new products and to introduce the Pasquier line of baked foods to the American market, according to Pacific Community Ventures.
