Core Tip: Jennifer Cue has been named chief executive officer of Jones Soda Co., effective June 30.
She succeeds William Meissner, who has resigned. Meanwhile, Mick Fleming, a long-standing board member, has been named chairman, replacing Richard Eiswirth.

The company also announced the elimination of the chief financial officer position, which had been held by James Stapleton since February. Carrie Traner, vice-president of finance and principal financial officer, will assume Mr. Stapleton’s duties.

Ms. Cue was with Jones Soda at its founding, and held various leadership roles at the company from 1995 through 2005, including c.f.o., c.o.o. and board member. She left the company in 2005 to spend time abroad, but returned in September 2011 as interim c.f.o.

“Our objective is to align the company’s cost structure with its operating resources and position the company for profitable revenue generation,” Mr. Fleming said. “Jennifer Cue, who previously served the company as chief operating officer and chief financial officer, has the skills and passion to return the company to a financially sustainable positive cash flow position, and to build upon that. We are grateful for the contribution of Bill, Jim and Rick to Jones Soda. Each individual has worked incredibly hard to advance the Jones brand and the company. On behalf of the entire board, we wish them success in their future professional endeavors.”
