Core Tip: Wonder Bread, the American bread brand owned by Hostess Brands, has introduced new wheat breads in three varieties - Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat and Wheat Sandwich.
According to the company, the new wheat bread varieties are baked with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, contain 25% less sodium than traditional wheat breads and have zero grams of trans fat.

New Wonder Wheat Sandwich bread provides fiber and folic acid, while Wonder Honey Wheat offers the nutrition of whole grains. Wonder 100% Whole Wheat bread contains 28g of whole grains per serving.

Hostess brand manager Stephanie Fletcher said that American families are increasingly choosing healthier foods and looking for ways to lower their intake of sodium and increase the amount of dietary fiber and whole grains in their diets.

"Wonder makes it easier and more delicious to make healthy choices with our new line of wheat breads that offer the nutrition families want from a brand they know and love," Fletcher added.

The three new wheat varieties are the latest in Wonder's range of products with enhanced nutrition. Over the recent years, Wonder Bread introduced several nutritionally-enhanced products including Smartwhite, Smartwheat and Smartwhite.
