Core Tip: A Cargill Meat Solutions meat plant in Plainview, Texas suspended operations and was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat July 25, according to news reports.
The facility received a phone call after 6:00 p.m., according to Mike Martin, director of communications. The second shift of workers was evacuated. The facility lost four hours of production time, he said.

Hale County law enforcement officers, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Transportation, Lubbock County bomb squad responded to the incident, according to MyPlainview.com. Authorities searched the plant, but found no bombs. The operations resumed after 10:00 p.m.

Tracing equipment connected to the 911 emergency telephone lines indicated the call was made from a pay telephone inside the plant, according to news reports.

The investigation is continuing.
