The Philippine meat processing sector has seen sales of P200 billion in the first five months of the year according to the Department of Agriculture.
The sector has also generated some 100,000 direct and derivative jobs.
The latest figures also show that the country has exported a total of 927,592 kilos of canned and processed meat during the same period.
From the total volume of these exported products, hot dogs and corned beef account for 58.42 per cent and 17.18 per cent,according to a report in the Sun Star.
