Compared to the same month last year, Brazilian pork exports during June rose 8.2 per cent in volume and 70 per cent in US$-value.
According to the latest figures from ABIPECS, Brazil exported 43,960 tons of pork during June, up 8.21 per cent compared to 40,626 tons during the same month last year.
The value of pork exported during June 2014 was US$167.2 million, up 69.8 per cent compared to June 2013, where the figure stood at US$98.49 million.
The average value of pork exported in June was $3,805 per ton, down 56.9 per cent compared to the same month last year, where the average was $2,424 per ton.
For 2014 so far (till June), pork export sales have reached 235,858 tons, 1.94 per cent less than at the same point last year. The average price rose by 13.08 per cent at $2,963, bringing the total value of Brazilian pork sales for 2014 to $698.8 million. That indicates a rise of 10.89 per cent from 2013.
