"Going by the efforts of the company so far where it has managed to sustain its profit curve movement, proves our scalability which could appeal to private equity players," K C Raghu, MD, Pristine Organics Pvt. Ltd, told FnB News in a interaction.
The company is working to ensure it could generate Rs 100 crore turnover within the next 5 years. Plans are on the anvil to develop products with millets like cover puffed and flaked versions, which provide variations for consumers. "The growing awareness for organic food products in an increasing health-conscious population is driving the demand. Therefore there is growth seen in the market share for companies like ours," he added.
Currently, Pristine has 15 branded products marketed through 350 organised retail chains, supermarkets and dedicated organic outlets. The fastest growing from the range are First Bites for infants, Beginning - a breakfast cereal, Millet Organica - a substitute for rice during meal times, in addition to Divina - a cold pressed organic oil.
The company also has a health drink Poushtik Plus which is fortified with RDA micronutrients for people living with HIV/AIDS. The nutritious mix has organic cereals, millets and pulses, infused with Omega 3 Fatty Acids to strengthen the immune system. The antioxidants boost resistance for such patients who are constantly prone to infections, according to Raghu.
He added, "Pristine is an ISO 22000 and organic-certified company. We look at preventing and controlling malnutrition and lifestyle disorders besides poor immunity conditions. So far, we have addressed the needs of around a lakh of malnourished children and over 30,000 people affected by AIDS/HIV+ with our products."
