Core Tip: DuPont plans to establish a food application center in India, as a part of its plan to strengthen its food and nutrition business in the country. The new center will develop customized food solutions for the local market.
The center would be a part of the company's nutrition and health business. The location for the plant has not been finalized. DuPont did not reveal the timeframe or the investment for the center, reported The Hindu Business Line.

DuPont global nutrition and health business president Craig Binetti said that India is an important market for the company, and with the new center, the Dupont will be bringing its global expertise to develop food solutions tailored for the local market.

"We have been working with several food companies in India and want to expand our relationship with them," Binetti added.

DuPont's Indian subsidiary, which generates about $900m in revenues, owns a research and development center in Hyderabad and an innovation center in Pune.

DuPont, a science-based products and services company based in the US, generated revenues of $38bn in 2011. Its nutrition and health business offers ingredients that are used in food, bakery and dairy products, improving the quality, taste and shelf life of such products.
