After holding the price line steady for one year, Mother Dairy has revised milk prices by 4% in Delhi-NCR effective from Sept 8, 2012.

The last price increase by the company was effected in September 2011. The increase is being attributed to significant increases in power tariff, polyfilm cost, diesel cost and milk procurement prices.

According to a release by the company, while its milk had been priced lower than its nearest competition earlier, even after the increase was effected, it continued to be lower by Re 1 per litre in the full cream milk variant.

The new prices are thus: full cream milk (poly pack) - Rs 39, toned milk (poly pack) - Rs 30, toned bulk vended milk (token milk) - Rs 28, double toned milk - Rs 26, and skimmed milk - Rs 22.
