KMF’s Mother Dairy opens Nandini outlet at Bengaluru's railway station

Core Tip: Mother Dairy, a unit of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), has now embarked on a expansion plan to augment its Nandini Milk Parlours.
The Federation has now opened its 121st milk parlour, which is the fourth in the premises of the railway station in Bengaluru. While the latest outlet is now located at the Cantonment Railway Station, the earlier three outlets were opened at Yelahanka, Yeshwantpur and Kengeri.

To facilitate availably of fresh and pure milk and milk products to the commuters, Mother Dairy has installed a Nandini Milk Parlour at Cantonment Railway Station, Bangalore. This Nandini Milk Parlour was inaugurated by A S Premanath, director, Mother Dairy. Senior officers from the Railways were present on this occasion. The rail commuters can now utilise this facility which will vend the range of flavoured milk, butter milk, curds, traditional Indian sweets and ice cream, according to the officials at the marketing department of Mother Dairy.

Mother Dairy has a network of 647 retailers through whom milk is sold to the consumers. Further, it has satellite modern format joints to sell various varities of milk and 'Nandini' brand of long shelf life and short shelf life milk products numbering around 50. The sale joints are branded as "Nandini Milk Shoppee". Also, cold chain network which is a pre-requisite for the sale of milk and milk products has been established in four strategic locations of Bangalore city as "walk-in cold stores" to ensure un-interrupted and constant milk supply to our retailers/consumers.

The ISO22000:2005 certified dairy was set up in 1984, primarily for dispensing liquid milk to customers through bulk vending system. Today, the dairy stands expanded from 2 lakh litres to 7 lakh litres milk processing per day. It also has facilitates to pack and distribute milk & curd in different packs formats in the most hygienic way. Besides, it has a modern facility to manufacture skim milk powder, dairy whitener, as well as whole milk powder to the tune of 30 MTs per day. It has established a facility to manufacture more than 30 varieties of ice cream including pro-biotic, sugar free in the various pack formats to the tune of 15,000 litres per day. Presently, it is undertaking manufacturing and co-packing of Amul ice cream for Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd.
