IMCD and Beneo have entered into a distribution deal for food and nutrition ingredients in the Benelux area.
The deal, which covers the whole of Benelux, will involve the distribution of ingredient ranges including dietary fibres such as inulin and oligofructose, the sugar replacer isomalt, in addition to the sugar Palatinose and several rice derivative ingredients.
Beneo’s rice derivatives will enable IMCD to provide its customers in all food and nutrition segments with solutions for clean label and healthy products alike, as well as answers to their stability and texturing issues, said the firm.
“This partnership will further enable IMCD Benelux to provide complete service to our customers in the region,” said Nadine Depré, Business Unit Manager Food & Nutrition at IMCD Benelux. “We see Beneo as yet another right partner in being able to provide high quality products and services, thus bringing new solutions to the market.”
The announcement comes as nutrition becomes an important and growing area for IMCD. The group said the expertise that Beneo has in in prebiotic fibres and functional sweeteners will add value to the company and will complete IMCD’s portfolio in terms of nutritional and health benefits “such as fibre-enrichment, fat- and sugar-reduction as well as dental care or energy management.”
“The comprehensive market knowledge as well as IMCD’s professional approach to the food and nutrition market in Benelux, supported by their Food & Nutrition Technical Centre in Mechelen, convinced us that IMCD is the right partner for Beneo,” explained Vincent Caluwaerts, area sales manager at Beneo.
