Parthenon Food Importers is voluntarily recalling Kydon brand Tahini as the product may contain peanuts which are not declared on the label, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The affected product, Kydon brand Tahini, product of Greece, is sold in a 500mL container bearing UPC 6 90651 77450 6 and best before date 16 October 2013. This product has been distributed in British Columbia.

There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts. The CFIA has issued an allergy alert and is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
