Undeclared Peanuts in KYDON brand TAHINI

Core Tip: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Parthenon Food Importers Ltd. are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume the Kydon brand Tahini.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Parthenon Food Importers Ltd. are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume the Kydon brand Tahini described below. The affected product may contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.

The affected product, Kydon brand Tahini, product of Greece, is sold in a 500 mL container bearing UPC 6 90651 77450 6 and Best Before date 16-10-2013. This product has been distributed in British Columbia.

There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts.

Parthenon Food Importers Ltd., Richmond, BC is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
