Crescent Dairy & Beverages is set to invest more than $30m to establish a new ultra pasteurized beverage processing facility in Colleton County, South Carolina.
The initial production output of the facility, which will include an ultra-high-temperature (UHT) beverage processing equipment, is anticipated to be mainly for export markets.
Company representative Gabriel Pascual said that they found that South Carolina and Colleton County will offer them a secure business environment that will guarantee solid progress.
"The new location is ideal for serving not only eastern U.S. markets, but export markets as well, as the Port of Charleston provides ideal conditions to allow fast and constant flow of cargo to the region," Pascual added.
The proposed investment is expected to create 60 new jobs over the next five years.
Select USA, the US government-wide initiative to promote business investment in the country, housed at the US Department of Commerce, partnered with South Carolina to help facilitate the firm's decision to locate in the US.
