New Generation Wines (NGW), a Kent-based supplier of fine wines to London on-trade, Independent wine merchants and national retailers and multiple grocers across the UK, has acquired the UK wholesale business of Plowden Fine Wines (PFW).

The agreement, which was effective from 22 October 2012, has resulted in Piers Plowden taking over the responsibilities as London and South East on trade sales director of NGW.

NGW managing director James Booth said Piers has an excellent range of wines from well known producers and a quality customer base.

"We both share a philosophy of quality combined with integrity. We will continue to offer wines that are both interesting and represent excellent value," Booth added.

PFW founder and majority shareholder Piers Plowden said they are happy to continue and develop ever stronger customer relationships in London and the South East.

"The broader Portfolio of superb wines from across the wine world, together with the enlarged customer service and administration resources, will greatly enhance the offering to PFW clients," Plowden added.
