Heritage Distilling Company (HDC), a Washington-based women-owned and family operated state craft distillery, is all set to open its doors for public for tastings, bottle sales and tours on 3 November 2012.
The distillery also plans to release a line of spirits, which includes Washington's Rye Whiskey, Elk Rider vodka, gin and whiskey, and Wherskey vodka, gin and light whiskey.
Besides distilling and distributing the spirits, the company also offers programs like 'Your Whiskey, Your Way,' where people can legally craft or custom order their own small-batch spirits.
The My Batch service of Your Whiskey, Your Way program allows wine enthusiasts to make their own hand-crafted, small-batch of vodka, gin or whiskey using the stills and equipment of the company and under the guidance of the company staff.
The Cask Club service allows the company's Cask Club members to decide specifications of their bourbon, rye or whiskey that are aged in private 10l casks.
HDC CEO and general counsel Justin Stiefel said unlike wine and beer, which people can legally make at home for personal consumption, it is illegal to own and operate a still without federal and state licensing.
"Up until now people interested in making spirits had very few options. Now thanks to our patent-pending My Batch and Cask Club programs spirits enthusiasts can get involved as much or as little as they want, legally," Stiefel added.
