US-based ice cream manufacturer Schoep Ice Cream has recalled Kay's Classic Vanilla Bean ice cream over an undeclared allergen

According to the company, the recall was initiated after certain Kay's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream containers were found to contain Kay's Butter Pecan Ice Cream, reported the Food Safety News.

The products subjected to the recall includes those which bear a UPC code UPC #0-87848-13021 and a best by date of 02/28/14. They were distributed to Food City and Super Dollar stores located across Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee. No illnesses have been reported associated with the recall.

Consumers who are allergic to pecans may experience a severe allergic reaction if they consume this mislabeled product. The company has asked consumers who have purchased the affected product to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
