Core Tip: Australian red meat exports to China exploded during October with a 611-percent year-on-year increase, according to data from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
October’s volume nearly equaled that of the entire export total of 2011.

The soaring export statistics now place China as the eighth-largest export destination for Australian beef.

Most of that volume was manufacturing beef for further processing.

Meanwhile, exports to the United States increased 57 percent year-on-year, aided largely by tight American beef supplies and continued high beef prices.
