High Liner Foods announced it has completed the final stages of the Icelandic USA integration, well ahead of schedule and less than a year after the acquisition of Icelandic Group’s U.S. assets.

Since the acquisition in late December 2011, High Liner has worked aggressively to integrate all facets of the business. Within the first six months, the foodservice and retail sales forces, broker networks, product lines, and operations were fully integrated.

High Liner has now completed the final milestone, completely integrating customer service and order fulfillment. All High Liner foodservice products in the U.S. have begun shipping from one location, the company’s Newport News, Va., distribution center. All retail products have begun shipping from its distribution center in Peabody, Mass. The new High Liner centralized electronic appointment scheduling system implemented company-wide will significantly simplify the ordering process for customers. Customers now only need to submit one order, process one invoice, and handle one delivery.

“We’re extremely proud of the efforts of our entire organization to complete the integration of the Icelandic business in less than a year, which is an achievement for an acquisition of this size,” said Keith Decker, High Liner USA president and COO. “Now our customers can interact with a single, unified High Liner Foods streamlined with one sales force, broker network, and customer service team. This will greatly enhance High Liner Foods’ ability to provide our customers with the best service possible.”
