PM Group has announced that it has been awarded a design and project management contract for McCain Foods in India. The project involves the construction of a $69m food manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
McCain Foods is a leading producer of French fries and potato speciality foods. The new greenfield food manufacturing facility will address the increasing demand for McCain Foods' products in the local market.
This announcement was made during a visit to PM Group's office in Bangalore by Ireland's Minister for Training and Skills, Ciarán Cannon. Minister Cannon is heading Ireland's largest ever education delegation to India organized by Enterprise Ireland. The objective is to promote Ireland as a world-class destination for international education to young Indian students.
Ciarán Cannon said that PM Group is a leading Irish services exporter and securing the latest contract with McCain Foods in India demonstrates the quality of PM Group's service offering and their continued success in export markets around the world.
PM Group managing director Krishna Kumar Gopala said that recent project wins and growing reputation in India reflect the company's focus on design excellence and service.
PM Group is currently involved in projects in Indian food and beverage and consumer products for companies such as McCain, Johnson & Johnson, Danone, Givaudan and Unilever. The company is also completing complex life science facilities for multi-national clients in India including Lonza, Biocon, Dr Reddy's and U.S Pharmacopeia.
