DuPont announced the opening of its ninth Innovation Center around the world and the first in Russia, a key growth market for the company. This is DuPont's first in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

As DuPont responds to some of the biggest challenges facing an increasingly populated planet, the Innovation Center in Moscow will focus on science-powered innovation related to food, construction, oil and gas, rail and automotive industries. It will also provide a unique environment for collaboration with customers, government, academia and business partners in Russia.

The goal of the Innovation Center is to leverage the power of DuPont’s global science network and give Russian customers access to DuPont’s 9,500 scientists and engineers around the world via interactive on-site and remote video conferencing.

“The pace of Research and Development (R&D) in emerging markets is rapidly accelerating,” said Douglas Muzyka, senior vice president and chief science and technology officer. “Connecting our customers in Russia to our scientists around the world will help redefine existing products, open new market segments, and increase our rate of innovation.”

The Russian DuPont Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art space with distinct areas for collaboration and innovation. The innovation space illustrates the company’s latest technology offerings, applications and industry trends. The collaboration space is designed for holding meetings between company clients and partners around the globe.

“Today, Russia is one of the world’s fastest growing markets with great potential for innovation,” said Jiri Lang, Russia managing director. “Whether a customer is looking to do exploratory projects or trying to come up with the next competitive “game changer,” our goal is to help our customers in Russia take innovations from concept to commercial – and with speed,” Lang added. “We want to share our market insight and foresight with our customers here and help them meet new demands for today’s global marketpace.”

Other Innovation Centers have been opened recently in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. More are planned for Switzerland and Turkey in early 2013.
