California-based South Coast Winery Resort and Spa has received an approval from Riverside County to build a new winery in the region.
The new 5,470ft² winery, which will also house a tasting room, is a part of the project that includes construction of 23 buildings on 42,000ft² of space for resort, spa and office. The space will also be used for a pool and parking lot.
Located on the northwest of Rancho California and Anza roads, the new winery will join the existing 39 acre winery and resort that was built in 2003 and produces about 65,000 cases of wine annually, reported nctimes.com.
South Coast Winery winemakers Jon McPherson and Javier Flores now plan to expand the production by adding another 3,500 to 5,000 cases a year.
South Coast Winery sales and marketing director Crystal Magon was quoted by the website as saying that they are already producing wine under the Carter Estates label and are looking to add new varieties of white and red wines from the 70 acre vineyard.
